Global demographics indicate that life expectancy is increasing and our patients tend to retain more of their teeth in the latter stages of life. The last decades have seen many important developments in the field of tooth replacement and oral rehabilitation strategies including the introduction of implant dentistry, adhesive dentistry, and various new materials processed through analogue or digital workflows. The adoption of all of the above has been exponential and the current choices for a clinician are numerous. This can lead to confusion and errors in choices compounded by aggressive commercial marketing with limited data on long-term success and complications. The aim of this educational day will be to try and filter the “noise” and present an evidence-based approach to treatment planning, decisions and clinical practice in Prosthodontics in the age of Digitization. The topics covered will include: Topic 1: Treatment planning and management of partially edentulous patients Topic 2: Implant systems and connections- Marketing vs. evidence Topic 3: Control and management of implant prosthodontic complications. Recipes for predictability and peace of mind. Topic 4: Digital workflows and clinical dentistry- Need to adapt or just fear of missing out (FOMO)?
